Children are an integral part of Open Door Church. Our vision for children's ministry, Birth through 5th grade, is to help children find Christ, connect with His family, learn from His word and serve in His love. Our children's ministry is a place where children learn about God in an environment that is age appropriate and fun; a place where they are loved and accepted; a place that is safe and secure; and a place that values parents and families.

KIDS Zone (Kids In Divine Service) serves our children in Kindergarten through the 5th grade.

We have structured educational classes during our 11 AM service on Sunday morning (year round) and a midweek club program on Wednesday evenings (September through May). We follow a large group, small group format, in which child participation is encouraged. We incorporate music, drama, puppets, object lessons, crafts, etc. to help children learn God’s Word in a fun and exciting environment.

He called a little child and had him stand among them. He said, "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes a child in my name, welcomes me."
Matthew 18:2-5
"Let the little children come to me, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Matthew 19:14

God's Garden Nursery is a safe and welcoming place for your infants and toddlers, Birth to 3 Years. The nursery is staffed for both the 9:00am and the 11:00am services. There is play time (where children have the opportunity to interact with others of similar age), snack time (with parental approval), and Bible stories on a toddler's level. The nursery is the first step in growing "Son" flowers for heaven as children are prepared to enter the preschool.

God's Garden Preschool is a structured class time for Preschoolers, 3 Years to Kindergarten entrance, during our 11:00am service. We follow a preschool curriculum, and each week we study and explore lessons and stories from the Bible. The lessons build on each other, and by the end of the year we have learned many of the Old and New Testament stories. Theo, a retriever pup, comes to visit each week to help us learn our Bible points, and he always brings something exciting with him. We also have circle time, crafts, snacks and games - each one related to the lesson.
